You will cover at least 5 different subjects just on the Classical Arabic language: 1. 1 http://www.shariahprogram.ca/Arabic-alphabet.shtml. He worked as a full-time Instructor at AUB between 2006 and 2010, teaching courses in Arabic grammar, modern Arabic literature, classical Arabic thought, Islamic theology, and modern Arab Thought I, in addition to teaching Arabic as a foreign language in the summer sessions.
Ustadha Farhat Ahmed Shamsi began her journey with the Qur’an after she first began feeling a sense of frustration at not being able to understand the Speech of Allah. Her frustration stemmed from having a filter of someone else’s choice of words between her and God.
By the Grace of Allah she was guided to a course of knowledge which centered on the language and understanding of every single ayah and surah in the Divine Revelation. A personally challenging journey began in a turbulent time for Muslims in America. Her journey became a passion and source of fulfillment; she had never imagined teaching anyone else what she was learning, except perhaps sharing it with her family. One day a friend requested Farhat Ahmed to teach her whatever she was learning, and then the student also became a teacher. Her adult study circles grew as she also brought in Islamic educational reforms in her local community and introduced Qur’an tafseer classes for high school and college students.
Having studied under highly regarded world- renowned scholars Farhat Ahmed continues as a student of knowledge, instructor and public speaker with students here in the U.S.A. A life changing experience! I am a full-time working physician and I joined sister Farhat's class when I started delving deeper into Islam and Quran before we decided to go to hajj in 2013.
From the very first day that I attended sister Farhat's class, I have not looked back since then.I have only gotten more and more mature religiously. Her sweet and humble way of explaining the Quran makes you get in love with it. The best part of this class is the way she relates Quranic verses to our current life's implications. It has really made me understand how this book sent more than 1400 years ago can be a manual for human lives forever to come. This class has really been a life-changing experience for me!!! May Allah gives us all the opportunity to attach ourselves to the Quran and put lots of barakah in this class, ameen. Ustadha Farhat helps the student to relate to the verses on a more personal level.

I truly enjoy the Food for the Soul Quran class as it has taught me many impactful lessons that have resonated with me beyond the classroom. Her style of teaching is warm and comprehensive in that she covers each surah, discussing the meanings and lessons behind every ayah, and sparks an illustrious discussion of the context surrounding the revelation that ensures a greater understanding, I love the assignments that involve learning the Arabic root words and I get really excited when I see the words repeated in other parts of the Quran that I can now understand. My family reverted to Islam when I was a young child, but this is the first time in my life where I've felt such a deep and meaningful connection with the Quran. This class has helped me look at the words of Allah as a source of energy for my heart and soul. I would definitely recommend anyone who is looking to add substance to their life to take this class, whether online or in person. It is a gem that you do not want to miss out on.
It has been a life changing experience for me. Ustadha Farhat's style of teaching is simple and her words resonate with me as Allah SWT has blessed her with a unique way of teaching that touches my heart. I have been studying Quran Tafsir with Ustadha Farhat since the class began 4 years ago. Even though I knew how to recite the Quran in Arabic, unfortunately I never read it with meaning. I did always want to know what Allah's words actually meant. By the grace of Allah SWT I came across this class and I can't tell you how blessed I feel. The Quran is a living miracle of Allah SWT and this journey that I am taking with my teacher is only the beginning towards understanding the vast ocean of Hidaya that it contains.
I am a student of knowledge and have studied with several scholars. As I acquire more knowledge, I realize how deficient and limited my comprehension is and how weak my faith and obedience is. I always strive to learn more until my Lord calls me back, Inshallah.
Journey through Quran is an amazing journey of life. Quran is the eternal, living reality, No matter how many times you read tafseer or learn the translation, it seems like you learn something new every time. It is as though this is your first time to discover this particular aspect of a word or ayah. May Allah (swt) raise me among 'Ahl al Quran' (people of Quran) and always keep us connected to His book, the ultimate living reality. 'The Quran is either an argument for or against you' (Sahih Muslim).
